We are thrilled to announce that the MaMLiSE project (Majority and Minority Languages in School Environment: Helping Teachers, Students, and Parents) has been awarded the European Language Label 2024 Certificate! The project was recognized for its outstanding innovation, community involvement, and practical approach to language learning. The materials developed through the project contribute to a more inclusive and multilingual school environment, supporting the development and success of all students, regardless of their linguistic backgrounds.
The MaMLiSE project was implemented by an international consortium coordinated by Prof. Anna Szczepaniak-Kozak, along with a team from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, including Prof. Emilia Wąsikiewicz-Firlej, and Prof. Sylwia Adamczak-Krysztofowicz. The consortium consisted of 8 organizations from 4 countries. Apart from AMU, Poland was represented by the Teacher Training Center in Poznań. Other partners included three universities from Germany (University of Bremen, University of Bielefeld, University of Paderborn), the University of Limerick (Ireland), and two partners from Greece (Patra/Athens Institute of Computer Technology and Press, and the 2nd Ηigh School of Intercultural Education in Ioannina).
Between 2020 and 2023, as part of a project funded by the European Commission (Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships, School Education, grant number 2020-1-PL01-KA201-081612), we developed materials that help teachers work effectively in linguistically diverse classrooms and support parents in fostering multilingualism at home:
• A manual for teacher trainers: https://www.vr-elibrary.de/doi/book/10.14220/9783737015639
• Training materials arranged in a series of 10 workshops, available as an e-learning course: Training offer for teachers – Majority and Minority Languages in School Environment: Helping Teachers, Pupils and Parents (amu.edu.pl)
• Academic publications: https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/gl/issue/view/2677/796
• Materials for parents: http://mamlise.home.amu.edu.pl/?page_id=778
This award not only recognizes the quality and impact of the project’s outputs, including its scientific publications and training materials, but also opens up new opportunities for further implementation and wider promotion across EU countries.
