MaMLiSE Open Day in Irleand

This multiplier event took place at the University of Limerick on Monday, 22nd May 2023 14.00-16:30 (GMT) and was also delivered live online via MS Teams. The event targeted among others, in-service teachers from Ireland – pre-service teachers from Ireland – teacher educators – school supervisors and school principals – faculty, researchers and associated partners.

During this event all results and outputs of our project were disseminated, including in particular:
14:00-14:20 Welcome and introduction; presentation of the e-learning platform and project outputs to the MaMLiSE Project led by Dr Angela Farrell (Assistant Dean International, Faculty of AHSS, UL),

14:20-14:40 Introduction to the workshop entitled Linguistic and Culturally Sensitive Teaching and exploring diversity in schools and raising awareness of language-sensitive teaching led by Michelle Daly (Teacher, School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, Faculty of AHSS, UL),
14:40-14:55 Principle 1: Exploring inclusive classrooms and Principle 2: Learner-centredness, diversity and related strategies led by Dr Mary Masterson (Lecturer, Faculty of EHS, UL), 14:55 – 15:10 Principle 3: Scaffolding and related strategies; teacher talk to promote inclusivity led by Dr Angela Farrell,
15:30 – 15:55 Principle 4: Language awareness and fostering language-friendly classrooms and Principle 5: Culturally sensitive classrooms and related strategies; Principle 6: Emotionally safe classrooms led by Michelle Daly,
15:55 – 16:10 Principle 7: Reflective teaching led by Dr Mary Masterson, 16:10 – 16:30.
